Now in its third generation of performers, the first family of gospel proves the adage that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. With We Got Next, Winans Phase 2--a teen quartet of cousins--follow in the footsteps of their grandfolks (Mom and Pop Winans), their respective fathers (the Winans), and uncle and aunt (BeBe and CeCe), as well as other family members. These four young men celebrate those ties while also reveling in their independence, noted both in their moniker and on the bound-for-hit single "I'm a Winans, Too," a peacockish anthem of respect and heritage. Phase 2 meld urban edge, hip-hop, and rap with Marvin Gaye-style soul, youthful exuberance, and a deep and abiding faith in Christ, as exemplified by lyrics of salvation and praise. And playing another hand with the family card, these fellas even do a fabulous cover of the Bee Gees' "Too Much Heaven." Get back, y'all, these boys are just getting started. --Paige La Grone
