Praise and worship collections are quickly becoming more commonplace, but few match the songwriting and performance excellence of this 25-song, 2-disc (one studio, one live) passionate celebration that spotlights artists such as Sonicflood, Delirious (namely Martin Smith), Matt Redman, Passion, and Darrell Evans. Studio highlights include the brilliant title track from Sonicflood, "Trading My Sorrows" by Evans, and "The Heart of Worship" by Redman and Smith. The emotional strength of this release is captured better through its live disc and tracks from Passion ("Better Is One Day," "You're Worthy of My Praise"), Benton Brown's "Lord, Reign in Me," and Redman's "Shout to the Lord." High-caliber musicianship, clever songwriting, and impassioned vocals span the borders from start to finish on this release, all the while validating this genre of Christian music as capable and moving. --Michael Lyttle
